Launch of the Sustainable Energy Roadmap for the Dominican Republic

On July 18th, Worldwatch's Climate & Energy’s Caribbean Program will officially launch its first Sustainable Energy Roadmap, entitled “Roadmap to a Sustainable Energy System: Harnessing the Dominican Republic’s Solar and Wind Resources.” Climate & Energy Director Alexander Ochs, Project Manager Mark Konold, and Research Associate Matt Lucky will join the President of the National Energy Commission (CNE); professionals and government officials from the country’s energy sector; and representatives of the project’s sponsor, the Energy and Environment Partnership in Central America (EEP) at CNE offices. Together, they will discuss the important findings of the roadmap and the concrete recommendations the Dominican government can follow to continue implementing a robust environment for the growth of renewable energy and reduction of fossil fuel dependence.
