We Want to Hear From You!

March marks a special time for Worldwatch: on March 28, we celebrate the Institute’s 40th Anniversary as well as the 80th birthday of Worldwatch’s founder, Lester Brown.

For 40 years, we have focused on informing policymakers, journalists, and the public about the urgent need to build environmentally sustainable societies that meet human needs. Thanks to various supporters, we have been able to leverage our vital research to inspire positive action and help accelerate the transition to a sustainable world that meets human needs over the years.

State of the World, Worldwatch's flagship annual report remains the most authoritative "go-to" resource for those who understand the importance of nurturing a safe, just, and healthy global environment through policy and action. First published in 1984 as a compendium of issues, State of the World now covers selected sustainability topics annually, including urban development, climate change, global security, consumerism, and agricultural innovation.

You have read our work, but now we want to hear from YOU! Let us know how our research has impacted you over the years. Please email us at 40thanniversary@worldwatch.org with your impressions of our work or your history as one of our readers. Your story is our story, because without your support and readership, we wouldn’t be able to help the world transition to happier and healthier societies.

And if you’re in the Washington, D.C. area, we hope that you’ll join us for the launch of State of the World 2014: Governing for Sustainability on April 29. Click here to RSVP today.

Here’s to another 40 years!
