Bob Pettapiece, Wayne State University

Bob Pettapiece grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan. In 1967, he moved to Detroit where he began teaching social studies in the public school system. Bob first became familiar with Worldwatch through the Institute’s bimonthly magazine, World Watch. After reading other publications, he gradually became more involved with the Institute and its work. “I enjoyed reading World Watch magazine,” he says. “It has a lot of ideas that get people thinking. I guess as a teacher that’s what I want people to do: think.” Bob joined the Worldwatch Monthly Giving Club a few years ago as a way to easily support a cause he cares deeply about. “Worldwatch gives the thoughts and ideas to provide through education.”
