5th World Forum on China Studies

Worldwatch Institute President Robert Engelman will travel to Shanghai, China to participate in the 5th World Forum on China Studies, which takes place March 23-24 at the Exhibition Center of Shanghai.

With the theme “China and the World in the Coming Decade,” the conference aims to promote mutual understanding and academic interchange between Chinese and overseas scholars. Experts will explore all elements of Chinese society from the economic opportunities to foreign policy strategies to the environmental challenges. 

The Ecological Sub-forum of the 5th World Forum on China Studies will be hosted by the Center for Eco-Economy and Sustainable Development in Shanghai. The subject will be "Beautiful China: Development Pathway and Institution Innovations of Eco-civilization." Discussion will be broken down into four sessions: Energy and Green Development; Water and Green Development; Environmental Performance Assessment and Management of Government; and Development and Innovation of Eco-civilization Institutions
