Join us at the Takoma Park Earth Day Speaker Series, hosted by Historic Takoma, as part of the Takoma Park Earth Day event. From wildlife conservation to watershed protection, environmental experts will guide audiences through an in-depth look at some of the most significant issues facing our environment today.

This event is free to the public.

10:00am: Saving Endangered Species - Tim Male, a scientist, professional conservationist, and city councilmember and resident, will focus on the magnitude of the extinction crisis we now face.

11:30am: Local Environmental Initiatives - Delegate 20 Representatives Senator Jamie Raskin, Delegates Sheila Hixson, Heather Mizeur, and Tom Hucker will talk about their environmental initiatives, what has been accomplished and what is being planned.

1:00pm: Is Sustainability Still Possible? - Robert Engelman, President of the Worldwatch Institute and Takoma Park resident will be joined by his colleagues to discuss their new book, "Is Sustainability Still Possible?"

2:30pm: What Friends of Sligo Does to Enjoy our Watershed - Local environmental organization Friends of Sligo Creek will host several display tables and exhibits.
